If you’re familiar with this and other organic lifestyle sites, you know that we’re all increasingly aware of the role hormones such as cortisol play in our lives.
Until recently, however, it’s been hard to find ways to naturally supplement those hormones in a healthy way.
That’s no longer the case, courtesy a traditional remedy long known in Africa and India, but only more recently known here in the modern world.
That remedy? Ashwagandha root – which is also sometimes known as Indian Ginseng.
Though Ashwagandha / Indian Ginseng has long been known as an immune system booster, it’s only more recently that we’ve understood how it also works for hormone balance – particularly in slowing the aging process.
It’s a real-life fountain of youth!
In particular, Adaptogen is a powerful anti-aging property of Ashwaganda, as it works to balance hormonal production, lowering it when it is too high (such as when stressed) and raising it when too low (such as naturally occurs when we age).
For this reason, Ashwagandha can be used to treat a variety of debilitating conditions such as:
- Anxiety and/or depression
- Immune Deficiency
- Low Energy
- Sexual potency
- Stamina and vitality
How to Use Ashwaghanda
Ashwagandha is available in powder and tablet forms, and as a liquid extract. Traditionally a powder is used and mixed with warm milk and honey. It’s then taken just before bed.
The herbal drink is said to have an immediate calming effect and fosters a healthy sleep pattern, reproductive system, and boosts strength.
A general dose can be 1/4 to 1/2 teaspoon once or twice daily.
Isn’t that something you want more of in your life?
