How we write

Each recipe on Healthy and Tasty Recipes goes through the same steps.

  1. Recipe development. We start from traditional home methods and standard Indian kitchen equipment, and write down exact quantities, times and the cues a cook should look for (colour, smell, texture, whistles).
  2. Drafting. AI writing tools help us produce first drafts. A person then reads every recipe, checks the quantities, ratios, times and order of steps, and edits the text before it is published.
  3. Safety and accuracy checks. We check food safety points (cooking meat and eggs through, cooling and storing rice and batters) and remove any health claim the recipe cannot support.
  4. Nutrition. Per-serving figures are calculated from the weight of each ingredient using published food composition values (IFCT 2017 from the National Institute of Nutrition, and USDA FoodData Central where IFCT has no entry). They are estimates.
  5. Updates. When readers tell us a step is unclear or a result went wrong, we review and update the recipe.
